How to play.

What is this?
This here is a roleplay website. We are a literate RP and pride ourselves on allowing both wolves and equines to be played here.  They live on an island all stranded by the ocean and left to die but a bigger surprise awaits them, these lands are inhabitable.

The administrators Cia and Henley.

How do I start?
To begin with you have to read over the rules located here. Then you get to have fun making a new character. Introduce your character here! Because you are automatically accepted scoot along and create your first post and get your character going! Role playing is essentially describing your characters thoughts, feelings, and anything else you can think of in words. It might seem overwhelming at first but do not worry it will get easier with time. There are plenty of examples around the site! Read through a few to get an idea of how to write.. A quick example would be:
Jack whinnied out over the shores towards the directions of his homelands. He was just another piece of rubble that had washed up onto these god forsaken lands and he needed to go home. But the storm still raged on over the horizons and if he tried to swim back the ocean would claim his life once he got out far enough.

As you role play more your post will become more interesting and you will find your own writing style and make a much better example than mine!

Is this a Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced Roleplay?
All of the above, we allow everyone  of every skill and writing ability on the site. We do not turn away anyone because they supposedly "aren't good enough." Every player is cherished here at Oriens not matter how talented they may be.


What is power playing?
Roleplaying is controlling your character, not some one else's. Power playing is where you act out another's characters action/feelings or force harm upon another character. Only the owner of the other character can confirm their thoughts, actions, or if any harm was done.
Example of power playing:

Jane was infuriated at the other horse's comment so she snapped at him and ripped a chunk from his hide while blood dripped from the word. 

That's not okay. Play fair, it is up to the other player what happens to their horse. Do not decide that for them. Here is a much better way to write that:
Example of non power playing:

Jane was mad at the other horse's words and she lunged at him with her teeth hoping to tear out some flesh and watch the blood flow from the wound.

That gives the player a chance to decide their character's fate.

Take note that your character is not invincible though.


What are Oriend Ores or OO?

OO is the abbreviation for Oriens Ores. You can earn coins from various tasks most commonly posting or offering your services. (see announcements for other way to earn OO). You can also earn coins by advertising (50 ores per ad), making art, and much more.

What gender horse should I join with:
Whichever your heart desires!

How can I get a Oriens Horses:
You can buy one from a member, audition for one, or if you are lucky buy one from the shop. You can also breed one or adopt one from another member if you wish to go that route.

How do I get a foal?
When the season says "Foaling: Yes" that means you can breed your horse. First, find another horse for your horse to breed with. You can make a thread in the Plots board for help. After that make a thread and role play the 2 horses together for at the minimum 4 posts each. After that post stats at Foaling Fields and our staff will make you a foal. It's that easy! NO GRAPHIC BREEDING ALLOWED!

What is the Shop and how often does it come?

The Shop is automatic and always open with basic items available for purchase. Once every month rare items such as potions and ticket can be found. (date will be announced site wide one or two weeks before the opening)
